Oakhaven Hospice hosting information day and talks on death and dying

A NEW Forest hospice is inviting people to join in an open conversation about death and dying.

Oakhaven Hospice is running a free ‘This is your life… plan it, enjoy it!’ information event at Sway Place Care Home on Wednesday, 8th May.

Running from 10am to 2pm, it will provide an opportunity to “consider and discuss” your options and plans for later life, organisers said.

A hospice spokesperson said: “Talking about death and dying can be tough. This event will help you, your family and friends to start the conversation.

“Oakhaven’s event will be taking place during Hospice UK's Dying Matters Awareness Week, from 6th to 12th May.

“This annual campaign works towards creating an open culture in which we’re comfortable talking about death, dying and grief.”

The event will bring together local businesses, experts and organisations to provide “useful insights” into considerations for end-of-life.

These include planning funerals, celebrant choices, care in your own home and estate planning.

There will also be a number of Q&A talks and activity taster sessions.
