New Milton Round Tablers raise £3,000 in Porto or Bust Challenge for charity Round Table Children’s

NEW Milton Round Table members have joined forces for a series of challenges to raise £3,000 for a charity which supports terminally ill children.

The first fundraiser saw Jordan Perry, Kevin Groarke and Craig Dobbs travel through France, Spain and Portugal in an old banger as part of the Porto or Bust Challenge.

Kevin explained: “We used an old Ford Focus which we made up to look like the car from Toy Story. We also dressed as characters from Toy Story for the journey, which took us seven days.

“We then drove 1,200 miles home in two days and raised an amazing £1,000.”

Martin Pilley Garage donated the parts and labour which enabled the team to prepare their banger for its epic journey.

Fellow Round Tabler Sean Reeves then took part in the London Marathon on Sunday to raise a further £2,000 for Round Table Children’s Wish, which organises special treats for terminally ill children and their families.

Donations are still being collected for both fundraisers.
