Youth seen with penknife as a teenage boy is assaulted in Watermans Park, off Dorset Road in Somerford, Christchurch




A KNIFE was reportedly involved when a teenage boy was assaulted by another youth in a Christchurch park.

Police responded to a call-out to Watermans Park, off Dorset Road in the Somerford area, shortly after 6pm yesterday (Tuesday).

It was said the victim escaped serious injuries in the attack, while a third youth was seen carrying a penknife.

There was a large police presence at the park after the incident that evening.

A Dorset force spokesperson said: “At 6.07pm… we received a report that a teenage boy had been assaulted by another teenage boy in the area of Watermans Park in Christchurch.

“It was further reported that another teenage boy present was in possession of a penknife.

“The victim did not sustain any serious injuries and did not require hospital treatment.”

The spokesperson continued: “Officers attended and conducted a search of the area, but the boys were not located.

“Enquiries are being carried out into this incident. No arrests have been made.”
