WALKERS are being urged to stay away from the edge at Barton cliffs after wet weather sparked fears of further landslips.

The latest was near the eastern boundary of the Hoburne Naish holiday park at the weekend.

New Forest District Council’s coastal service manager Steve Cook told the A&T this was not unexpected due to recent heavy rain and further movement over the coming weeks was likely.

He continued: “We will continue to monitor and put in place safety measures as may be required, but would ask people using the area to please continue observing the warning signs along the whole of the clifftop and to stay away from the cliff edge.”
