Last of stolen goats found – on Trotts Lane

.MarchwoodTWO goats have been reunited with their owner 10 days after being stolen from a farm – and were found trotting along an aptly named road in

Lulu and Dolly were among nine goats stolen from a barn in Lee, near Romsey, during the night of 18th May.

The other seven were later recovered after being found wandering in the road in Nursling, but the pair of nanny goats, who are mother and daughter, remained missing.

Police involved in the search were “delighted” to find a member of the public was not kidding when they reported spotting the animals in Trotts Lane last Friday.

Police staff investigator Melody Manning said: "The owner was so delighted to be reunited with Lulu and Dolly. They are affectionate and friendly animals and were very much valued and missed by all.”

Officers are still investigating the theft, and are urging people to come forward if have any information.

"We don't know yet where they were being held and by whom, so we are still appealing for anyone who has any information about this crime to please get in touch,” Ms Manning continued.

“These much-loved animals were stolen after the barn was broken into and Lulu and Dolly were held for 10 days – so we are still very keen to find those responsible.”
