New Forest car parks to close for pony drifts




MORE New Forest car parks and cycle routes will temporarily shut in the coming days during the annual pony round-ups.

The first will be in Wootton tomorrow (Friday) which will involve closures to car parks at Brownhills, Wootton Bridge, Broadley, Yew Tree Bottom, Longslade Heath and Horseshoe Bottom.

On Sunday cycle routes will be closed from Ober corner to Black Knowl and Hursthill before the entrance to New Park.

The Ober Corner car park will also be closed.

On Tuesday 4th October car parks will be shut at Longslade Heath, Horseshoe Bottom, Longslade Bottom, Longslade View, Yew Tree Bottom, Wootton Bridge and Setthorns.

There will also be a round-up in Ashurst on 7th October.

A Forestry England spokesperson reminded visitors to the area to not park on verges, along access tracks or in gateways and to use alternative car parks.
