New Forest car park and cycle route closures for pony drifts, including at Brockenhurst, East Boldre, Fordingbridge and Beaulieu
MORE New Forest car parks and cycle routes are set to shut temporarily for this year’s pony drifts.
The verderers urge the public to steer clear of the round-ups in which livestock is checked by agisters and commoners.
Closures announced by Forestry England start with the Wiers/Brockenhurst area, where the North Weirs Track and School Green cycle routes will be out of action on Friday.
Beechern Wood, Whitefield Moor and Whitemoor Pond car parks will also be shut Friday.
On Sunday, East Boldre car parks will close at Bull Hill, Norley Wood, Crockford, Crockford Clump, Beaulieu Heath and Hatchet Moor.
Next week the Telegraph Hill and Turf Hill car parks will be closed for drifts on Wednesday.
Finally, the Wootton area will host round-ups next Friday, affecting car parks at Brownhills, Wootton Bridge, Broadley, Yew Tree Bottom, Longslade Heath and Horseshoe Bottom.
