Legal work helps Forest motorist Emily Harris avoid ban for using phone while driving on the M3 at Winchester

A MOTORIST caught using a handheld mobile phone while driving on a motorway evaded a ban due to her work for legal services.

Emily Harris (34), of the New Forest, pleaded guilty to committing the offence in a Vauxhall on the M3 southbound, junction 11, at Winchester, on 22nd March 2023.

The potential loss of home and an impact on wider society due to her specialist role were among mitigating circumstances cited as Southampton magistrates decided against disqualifying Harris.
