Letter: Bizarre brass band behaviour

SIR – Thank you for highlighting the band brassed off by the ban (A&T, 14th

August).

I agree with the brass band of Lymington as this is bizarre behaviour by Lymington and Pennington Town Council who gave permission to perform at the rec in Bath Road.

The mayor of Lymington was in attendance along with two other councillors. This must tell the public that L&PTC obviously did not know the correct procedures, so therefore were not correct in their statement of giving the band permission in the first instance to perform.

Mistakes were made by the mayor and the council.

This also now questions if L&PTC has made the correct decision to allow the seafood festival to take place when all other events have been cancelled up and down the country.
