Letters: A winter plea to cyclists and pedestrians to be seen on the roads
Published: 00:00, 07 November 2019
SIR - Now that the dark evenings are with us again, could I please make a plea for pedestrians - and cyclists - to ‘be seen’.
I, for one, do not wish to be driving into a dark-clothed pedestrian who appears to be making no attempt to be visible to the traffic on a stretch of road without a pavement.
Or mowing down one of the cyclists who seem to think that both lights and reflective clothing are options they can do without.
Yes, motorists need to take extra care as well. But we have a shared responsibility to stay safe.
