Letters: Brexit border issue could be solved by reuniting Ireland

SIR - The reaction of too many MPs to the suspension of parliament shows they are not democrats. They must obey the instruction from the electorate to leave the EU.

Was there a requirement in the wording of the referendum that we should have the agreement of the EU? Since the instruction was not addressed to a particular party or parliament, it follows that a general election is irrelevant.

Those who insist that we must have a deal play into the hands of EU members who will dictate terms.

The Irish border problem would be solved by a reunited Ireland.

The problem would then shift to Scotland if they decided on independence. The last evidence was that ardent nationalists had misjudged the mood of the people, possibly ignoring the likelihood that it would deplete their economy.
