Letters: Too fast and too furious - I dread Beaulieu car events
SIR - I read your article ‘Stupid Forest supercar parade criticised’ in last week’s edition with interest.
The photograph confirmed my observations on the day of the event, that a large number of ‘supercar’ owners do not display a front number plate!
Is this a device to evade the law, as the power of these vehicles make it an easy matter to break our speed limits?
I understand that the group in the photograph were from a car dealership which may try brushing aside the matter with talk of being on ‘trade plates’. If this is the case why were these plates not displayed as required?
Living close to the A326 I have come to dread the Beaulieu car events. The noise and speed from the specialist cars far exceeds that from the normal traffic passing my house.
