Letters: When will the council tackle this fly-tipping epidemic?

SIR - Further to the fly-tipping epidemic in our area and my recent communications on this subject, I still have not had a reply from the county council as to how many prosecutions they have been successful with for fly tipping in the last 15 years.

We can take it that this figure is zero!

Numerous letters to MP Sir Desmond Swayne have proved unproductive although he did inform me at the end of October that “new powers to deal severely with fly-tipping were given a second reading in the Commons last night”.

When is the council going to address this serious matter because over 15 years they have not done so?
