Motorcyclist flown to hospital with ‘serious, life-changing injuries’ after collision with car at junction of Station Road and Newlands Road in New Milton




A motorcyclist suffered life-changing injuries in a crash with a car in New Milton yesterday (Sunday).

Paramedic teams, including the Hampshire & Isle of Wight air ambulance, responded to the incident involving a Yamaha YBR 125cc and a Mini Countryman at the junction of Station Road and Newlands Road.

The alarm was raised shortly before 9.30am, and police and a local fire crew also rushed to the scene.

Having suffered what were described by the Hampshire force as “serious, life-changing injuries”, the biker was flown to hospital by the helicopter.

His next of kin were informed.

A spokesperson for the medical charity said: “Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance confirm that the air ambulance, carrying a doctor and specialist paramedic, was dispatched to an incident in New Milton at 9.33am on Sunday 9th June.

“Following treatment on scene, a patient was airlifted to hospital for further treatment.”

People are being urged to get in touch with police if they were in the area at the time of the collision.

A force spokesperson said: “Did you see what happened?

“Do you have a dash cam fitted to your vehicle which might have caught footage of the incident?”
