A GROUP of local boys are to host their third fundraising football match to raise money for a New Forest charity.

Secondary school students Alex Brash, Noah Andrew, Seth Woodcraft and John Devlin (pictured l-r) have been the main organisers of the event which consists of a 90-minute game followed by a quiz night.

They have already raised nearly £300 from online donations beating their previous events record of £254.

This year they have chosen to donate money raise to SCARF, a charity which organises regular term-time and holiday activities for children and young people with special needs and their families.

John said: “This match is the third match that we have organised, starting with the first match in our 2017 Easter holidays in which raised £55 and was given to Cancer Research.

“We organised a second match held in October half-term last year and we were pleased to raise £254. This was donated to the mayor’ charities.

“Our third match in February half-term this year will be the first match that we have tried to promote beyond our families and friends with the hope of raising a lot more money for charity.”

The match is set to kick off at 2pm on Monday 18th February at the Fawcetts Field stadium in New Milton and the quiz is being held at the clubhouse from 6pm.

John added: “We are very grateful to the New Milton Town Council for allowing us to use the football stadium and to the Fawcets Field Clubhouse for hosting our events both free of charge.”

A player fee of £1.50 is required to participate in the game and there is a spectator fee of a minimum of £2.

Entry for the quiz is £2 per person and there will also be raffle where tickets can be purchased for £1 for five tickets.

Food will be available on the night for a subsidised amount of £3 per meal and drinks will be available at the bar.
