London driver arrested in Park Lane, Marchwood, over drug offence

A MAN from London was arrested on suspicion of a drug offence in Marchwood yesterday (Monday) after police stopped his car.

At around 11am, officers patrolling the A35 stopped the motorist whom they suspected to be driving under the influence of drugs.

The white Vauxhall stopped on Park Lane, where officers searched the man and vehicle. Nothing was found, but he did fail a drugs wipe at the roadside.

A 29-year-old, from London, was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs.

He was questioned by officers and released under investigation while enquiries continued.
