Motorist uninjured after tree falls on car on the A337 Southampton Road, between Boldre and Lymington




A MOTORIST escaped injury after a large tree landed on their car when it fell across the A337, blocking off the main route between Boldre and Lymington for hours this morning (Monday).

The incident took place on Southampton Road around 4.45am, but a Hampshire police spokesperson said no one was injured as a result.

Hampshire County Council announced online around 7.20am that the road had been closed in both directions as engineers worked at the scene.

At around 9.30am the authority confirmed its highways team had cleared the tree and the road had been reopened.

A Hampshire force spokesperson said “Police were called at 4.43am this morning after a tree fell and landed on a car on Southampton Road, Boldre.

“No one was injured.”
