Driver's 'lucky escape' as Morgan sports car careers off A337 near Minstead




A MOTORIST had a “lucky escape” after a sports car careered off the A337 near Minstead.

Police responded to the incident, which took place near the turning for the village around 5.40pm on Easter Monday, leaving the Morgan vehicle badly damaged.

The driver, a man in his 60s from the New Forest, was reportedly uninjured.

Sharing an image of the crashed vehicle on Twitter, Hampshire Roads Policing Unit officers warned people to always drive to the weather conditions.

“A lucky escape for the driver of this Morgan on the A337 near Lyndhurst,” the tweet said.

“The driver stated the damp road caught him out, however, cars don't leave the carriageway for no reason.

“Think and always drive to the conditions, no matter how changeable. Thankfully no injuries.”
