Lymington man Stephen Dempsey charged with offences of shoplifting and robbery




Police have charged a Lymington man with a host offences including shoplifting and robbery.

The alleged incidents took place in the town earlier this month.

Stephen Dempsey (48), of Lower Buckland Road in Lymington, has been charged with:

  • Robbery at McColl's, Hillside Road, on 9th March.
  • Shoplifting from McColl's, Hillside Road, on 7th March.
  • Shoplifting from Tesco Express, The Square in Lymington, on 7th March.
  • Shoplifting from Tesco Express, The Square in Lymington, on 9th March.
  • Shoplifting from Pennington Cross garage on 6th March.
  • Two shopliftings from McColls, Hillside Road, on 5th March.

A total of £946 worth of goods were stolen across these alleged offences.

Dempsey has also been charged with stealing a bicycle on Alamansa Way in Lymington on 22nd February.

He has been remanded in custody and was due to appear before Southampton Magistrates Court today (Monday).
