Michael Mann of Lymington pleads guilty at Southampton Magistrates’ Court to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child
A Lymington man who thought he was messaging a 12-year-old girl asked her to send explicit pictures unaware he was speaking with a police officer.
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, Michael Mann (55), of Woodley Gardens, pleaded guilty to attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child.
The court heard the offences took place between 21st and 30th June 2021.
Prosecutor David Fosler told the court Mann had believed he was communicating online with a 12-year-old girl and the conversation “quickly turned sexual”.
He added Mann sent a message asking “please send a photo of breasts and sexy outfit”.
The case was committed to the city’s crown court for sentence on 12th March.
Mann was given unconditional bail.
