Man appears in court charged with threats to kill after police siege

A MAN has been charged with making threats to kill after a near four-hour police siege of a home in New Milton.

Alexander Psaila (32), of Whitefield Road in the town, is also facing an allegation of threats to damage or destroy property.

He also stands accused of committing criminal damage to property with a value under £5,000.

The defendant was due to have appeared before Southampton Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday).

As reported in the A&T, armed officers surrounded a property at Brecon Close shortly after 11am on Wednesday.

A stand-off continued until shortly before 4pm when a man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Bournemouth Hospital

Residents spoke to the A&T of their shock at the events and their “complete surprise” to be confronted with so many officers.
