A FOREST man has been handed a suspended prison sentence after he was found with two lock knives in public.

Glenn Jones (50) of Calmore Drive, Calmore, was found with the weapons by police on 23rd April on Salisbury Road, Totton.

Southampton Magistrates’ Court heard how Jones armed himself with the knives due a grievance with members of a local family over a failed relationship.

Imposing a four-month sentence, suspended for 12 months, the Bench said they hoped the sentence would act as a deterrent for those who contemplate carrying knives.

He must also pay court charges of £85 and undertake up to 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
