Man arrested in early-morning drugs raid
A MAN was arrested after cocaine and cannabis were uncovered during an early morning drugs raid at a Fawley home.
Police swooped on the property in Forest Edge shortly before 6.30am last Thursday in a joint effort between the Waterside neighbourhood team and officers from Totton, helped by a dog unit.
As well as the class A and B substances, an amount of cash and other drug-related items were seized from the property.
Detained on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine, a 24-year-old local man was later released under investigation.
A Facebook post by police later that day said: “This morning the Waterside Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a drug-related warrant with support from marine unit and colleagues from Totton police.
“We also had assistance from the drugs dog so that no stone was left unturned.
“As a result one male has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.
“A substantial amount of cannabis and powder has been seized. As well as this, a substantial amount of cash has been seized.”
The post also urged people to come forward if they have any information about drugs offences in their area.
“If you have any concerns over drug dealing in your community, whether this be locations, people, vehicles or anything you think will be helpful to us, please let us know in confidence so that we can continue to build a picture and gather information,” it said.
