A MAN was assaulted and robbed by three others in an early hours incident in the centre of Christchurch.

The victim - aged in his 20s - was approached by three men near the Fountain Way roundabout around 3am last Thursday.

He was assaulted and also had his phone and £20 cash taken.

He suffered a fractured ankle and bruising to his legs, arms and upper body. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

PC Jim Perks, of Christchurch police, said: “We believe that the victim may have met the three men earlier in the night, on Wednesday 12th February, at Cameron’s Club and Lounge.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or have information about who was responsible, to please get in touch.”
