Man charged after New Milton town centre 'rampage'
A MAN from New Milton has been charged with causing criminal damage after allegedly going on a smashing spree in the town.
David Bryan Emblen (37), of Antler Drive, has been bailed to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 26th September.
Officers were deployed to Station Road at about 12.30pm on Tuesday after receiving reports of a man vandalising vehicles.
The police helicopter was in action hovering over the town. A suspect was eventually apprehended in the car park of The Walker Arms around 20 minutes later.
Two police officers arrived in the pub’s car park and one drew his Taser, although it is not believed it was discharged.
Hampshire police said: “We were called at 12.24pm to reports of a man damaging car windows in Station Road, New Milton.
“Officers were deployed to the scene.”
