Man charged over alleged knife attack at Lymington home
A MAN is due to appear before magistrates after armed police responded to an alleged attack by a knife-wielding assailant at a Lymington home on Saturday evening.
The alarm was raised around 6.10pm, and a force helicopter was dispatched, along with a dog unit, to support the officers as they swooped on the property in Lower Buckland Road and carried out a search.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance was among the paramedic teams that responded to the incident.
They treated a local man at the scene for wounds to his head, but he did not need to be taken to hospital.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said his injuries were not thought to have been serious.
Following the incident, police charged Ross Neilson (39), of Broadly Close, Pennington, with wounding with intent and threatening a person with a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place.
Neilson is due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).
