Man charged over alleged weapon threat and police attacks at Sainsbury’s supermarket on Meeting House Lane in Ringwood

A MAN is due to appear in court after an alleged disturbance involving weapon threats and attacks on police at a Ringwood supermarket.
Officers responded when a panic alarm was activated at Sainsbury’s on Meeting House Lane shortly before 5pm on Friday 1st March.
A suspect had been detained by security having been said to have threatened and assaulted staff.
Jordan Burnell has subsequently been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of assaulting police officers, threatening a person with an offensive weapon, and affray.
Remanded in custody, the 28-year-old, of Cecil Road, Bournemouth, is due to face the charges at Southampton Crown Court on 5th April.
