David Turford (43) charged over samurai sword incident at property on Powell Crescent in Totton
A man is due to appear in court accused of having a samurai sword at a Totton home.
Police responding to a call-out to an address on Powell Crescent around 5.30pm on Saturday 30th December arrested and charged David Turford with possessing an offensive weapon in a private place.
The weapon was seized by officers.
Turford (43), who lives in the street, was granted unconditional bail to next appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 1st February.
A Hampshire police spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a report of a man in possession of an offensive weapon at an address in Powell Crescent, Totton, at 5.30pm on Saturday (30th December).
“David Turford (43), of Powell Crescent, was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
“He has been released on unconditional bail to next appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on 1st February.
“A samurai sword was seized by officers.”
