Romsey man James Wood charged with a raft of offences, including burglaries in the New Forest




A man has been charged with a raft of offences, including burglaries in the New Forest.

James Wood (33), of Cutforth Way, Romsey, faces nine charges – five burglaries, two thefts from vehicles, assault by beating and criminal damage.

He was arrested at his home in the early hours of Thursday morning and appeared at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday.

Wood was charged with the following:

  • Burglary in North Gorley, reported on Monday 20th March.
  • Two thefts from motor vehicles in Fordingbridge and Godshill, reported on Sunday 20th August.
  • Burglary in Brook, reported on Saturday 18th November.
  • Two burglaries in Godshill, reported on Monday 20th November.
  • Assault by beating in Romsey, reported on Monday 20th November.
  • Burglary in Romsey, reported on Monday 20th November.
  • Criminal damage in Fordingbridge, reported on Monday 20th November.

Wood was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Crown Court on 8th January next year
