Timothy O’Brien charged with stalking New Forest resident online




A man has appeared in court charged with stalking a New Forest resident.

Timothy O’Brien (55), of Athelstan Road in Bournemouth, was brought before Southampton magistrates yesterday (Wednesday) after an investigation into incidents between 13th December 2022 and 21st January 2023.

A New Forest resident had reported receiving multiple unwanted messages online, a spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said.

Charged with stalking, O'Brien was was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates' Court, where he was further remanded for a date yet to be decided.

"Tackling this sort of crime is a priority for us," the spokesperson continued. "If you have been affected, please report it to us via 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency.

"We know that not everyone who has experienced this type of crime has the confidence to speak to police.
