Man dies after suffering medical episode outside Ashley home
A MAN has died following a medical emergency outside a home in Ashley on Monday afternoon.
Paramedic teams, including the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, were sent to an address in Thornham Road.
The alarm was raised around 4.20pm, with reports the 52-year-old had suffered a medical episode. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police also attended the incident before handing the matter over to the coroner. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for the force said: “We were called at 4.20pm on Monday 17th August after a 52-year-old man suffered a medical episode outside an address on Thornham Road, Ashley.
“SCAS [South Central Ambulance Service] attended but sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
The man’s identity has not been formally confirmed, and no further details were released by the police or ambulance service about the circumstances of the incident.
