James Kempster of Bury Brickfields in Totton appears in court over dead animals left outside village shop




A MAN has appeared in court over an incident where more than 50 dead animals were dumped outside a village shop.

James Kempster (37) of Bury Brickfield Park in Totton, was charged last month with two charges of possessing wild birds, and one of criminal damage.

As reported in the A&T, the carcasses, which included around 50 dead hares, a kestrel and a barn owl, were discovered outside the community store in Broughton, between Salisbury and Winchester, on the morning of 15th March.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today (Tuesday), defence solicitor Sarah Barnard asked for the case to be adjourned.

The Bench agreed, with the case rescheduled for 23rd September.

He was given bail on the condition he does not enter the village of Broughton.
