A TEENAGER was arrested after a man suffered a fractured skull and cheekbone during a bank holiday altercation in Ringwood.

The 21-year-old victim was rushed to hospital and required surgery after he was allegedly punched in the face outside the Nationwide Bank in the High Street between 11.50pm on Saturday August 24th and 12.06am the following day.

A 20-year-old man who was also said to have been punched in the face by the same suspect was not injured, Hampshire Police said.

The force is investigating the incident as grievous bodily harm. The arrested man is aged 19 and from Bransgore. He has been bailed.

In an appeal Hampshire Constabulary said: “There were a lot of people in the area at the time of the incident and officers are asking anyone who hasn’t already spoken to police, to come forward.

"They would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have videoed the incident.”
