Man suffers serious leg injuries in digger accident

A MAN suffered serious leg injuries when a digger fell on him in the New Forest.

“We had on scene our hazardous area response team (HART) ambulance crew, rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, who were assessing and treating a male in his 40s for serious leg injuries.

“Working in partnership with Hampshire Fire and Rescue, the team were able to free the patient from underneath the vehicle. Following assessment and treatment at the scene by all our crews he was taken to University Hospital Southampton by ambulance.”
