Marriage proposal goes off with a bang at Fawley Firework Spectacular
THERE were extra fireworks for one couple at Fawley's weekend bonfire display when a proposal lit up the event.
Watersider Lee Chadwick contacted organisers of the Fawley Firework Spectacular, held at Gang Warily, asking if he could sponsor an extra display so his proposal to partner Abii could go off with a bang.
Fawley Parish Council was "delighted to assist" Lee, who co-ordinated the show to music in front of the pair's friends and family.
Cllr Alan Alvey, chairman of Fawley Parish Council said “It was good to see everyone back enjoying this wonderful event at Gang Warily again and being part of a marriage proposal.
"Everyone at Fawley Parish Council sends their congratulations to the newly engaged couple.
"Special thanks must go to ExxonMobil for their continued support of the event year on year”.
More than 4,500 attended the Fawley Firework Spectacular, which returned after a two-year hiatus and included fire dancers, Charles Cole Fun Fair and various stalls.
