Milford Girl Guides fundraising again thanks to New Milton Men’s Shed intervention

GIRL Guides from Milford can restart their community fundraising activities after volunteers from New Milton Men’s Shed stepped in to replace a popular prop.

The Guides raise money for group activities and maintenance of their Sea Road headquarters by running stalls at local events. A very popular is attraction is their “higher and lower” Play Your Card’s Right-style game using giant playing cards. However, terrible weather at the village May Day celebration resulted in their equipment being blown over and destroyed.

Milford Rainbows leader Jane Etheridge decided to seek help from volunteers at New Milton Men’s Shed who donated the time and materials to recreate the popular game, which they presented to Girl Guides during a recent meeting.
