The “persistent and occasionally heavy rain” could result in flooding, it is warning, due to already saturated ground.

Bus and train services could be affected by the weather, with journey times taking longer, and motorists may be affected by spray and flooding on roads.

Some interruption to power supplies and other services is also likely.
