Milford tennis star Ella Taylor has been called up to the Great Britain squad for the upcoming Master’U BNP Paribas event in France.

Selected by BUCS (British Universities & Colleges Sport) and managed by the LTA, the national governing body for tennis in Britain, Taylor will form part of the six-member squad representing Great Britain.

Ella, who is studying a masters in strength and conditioning at Loughborough University, spoke of her excitement in playing on the international stage.

“It’s really exciting to be selected as this was one of my main goals for the year. It’s great to be picked to play for the GB university team and it’s also nice to represent Loughborough on the world stage as well,” she said.

“Both the girls’ and boys’ teams are really strong this year and it’ll be tough for a lot of countries to have the depth we have. I think we have a really good chance of doing well and I can’t wait to get started”, she concluded.

The team will play a series of matches against other nations, including singles, doubles, and mixed doubles in Grenoble, where they will compete between 29th November and 1st December.

Ella teams up with fellow Loughborough student George Houghton, who is in his final year studying sport and exercise science.

Loughborough tennis performance coach Tom Kisiel said he was proud of the commitment the young players have shown.

“I am delighted for George and Ella to be selected for this event and it’s a real testament to the hard work they’ve been putting in. Being selected to represent Great Britain is something they should be very proud of,” he said.
