Sydenhams Premier League Blackfield & Langley 4 Alresford Town 0

A CONNAL Morrison double helped Blackfield & Langley continue their fine start to the season and comfortably overcome Alresford Town.

The visitors attacked during the opening period without creating much of substance but Blackfield resisted well and gradually asserted themselves in the game – taking the lead when River Smith rounded the keeper and slotted home.

From then on, Blackfield dominated and were unlucky not to score more before the break, but they pressed home their superiority in the second, which was played in a deluge of rain.

Morrison fired home his first on 55 minutes and Blackfield were home, although not quite so dry, on 69 minutes when sub Domenico Panesar-Dower’s strike punished the visitors’ failure to clear a corner.

Mitchell Speechley-Price was one of several Blackfield players to draw a fine save from Alresford’s keeper before Morrison completed the formalities, keeping Blackfield fifth in the table.
