Mother and sons shaken after crash in Lymington high street

A MOTHER has told how she and her two sons were left shaken up after her car was involved in a collision with a Land Rover which flipped onto its side in Lymington town centre.

The incident took place as Beckii Robinson was driving her eight-year-old and 10-year-old boys home in her Ford Fiesta in St Thomas Street around 7.30pm yesterday (Thursday).

Speaking to the A&T, Ms Robinson recalled the Land Rover was travelling in the opposite direction, past a line of parked vehicles, when it and her Ford came into contact.

Her car’s windscreen was smashed in the impact and extensive damage was caused along the length of the driver’s side. Her vehicle was a write-off.

“My 10-year-old was covered in glass from where the rear passenger window had smashed,” she said.

“We were very shaken up. We still are today. The kids haven’t gone to school.

“We just feel shocked really. Thankfully, we’re all alright.”

Paramedics assessed the trio at the scene, along with the Land Rover driver, but none of them needed to be taken to hospital.

Police also attended, and the road was reportedly closed until around 10pm once the vehicles had been cleared from the scene.

Ms Robinson’s mother and brother then came to collect her and the children and took them back to their Brockenhurst home.

Describing the incident, as “a non-injury collision”, a Hampshire Police spokesperson said no further action would be taken by officers.
