Marchwood man James Smith banned from roads by Southampton magistrates after driving offences




A MOTORIST from Marchwood who admitted driving without due care and attention while his vehicle was missing a tyre has been ordered to complete mental health treatment.

James Smith (37), of Bury Brickfield Park, also pleaded guilty to driving a Volvo in Admiralty Way, Marchwood, while over the legal drink drive limit on 4th May last year.

Appearing before Southampton magistrates, Smith further admitted a charge of assault by beating.

He was given a six-month community order, which includes a requirement for mental health treatment and 12 days of rehabilitation activity.

The Bench also banned the defendant from driving for 18 months, and ordered he pay a £120 fine, £100 compensation, and £85 costs.
