Mudeford Phoenix FC celebrate success
UNBEATEN Mudeford Phoenix U12 enjoyed a 7-0 Hants League win against Winchester City Merlins.
Despite the score, Merlins were a hard nut to crack and Phoenix were grateful for excellent saves from keeper Clara Clare and outstanding defending from Sophie Hammond.
Midway through the first half Phoenix were rewarded when Summer Ferrett played in Player of the Match, Ella Marsh, to score her first of three goals. Further goals from Hannah Ludlow and Ella Marsh handed Phoenix a 0-3 half-time advantage.
Phoenix increased their lead when Katrina Roach fed an excellent through ball to Ludlow to score her second goal. Two goals from Scarlett Lucas and another from Marsh to complete her hat-trick saw Phoenix worthy winners.
Top of the table draw
PHOENIX U12s retained their unbeaten status with a 0-0 draw in a top of the table clash with AFC Portchester Girls.
Sadly Phoenix failed to secure the win that would have seen them crowned league champions.
Player of the Match, Emma Leonard marshalled a strong defence which was seldom troubled, but Phoenix were unable to convert their numerous chances.

Slow start for Mudeford U13
NEWLY promoted County 2 U13 side Mudeford Phoenix Girls started slowly against Pace and had to defend in numbers.
The second half saw Pace take the lead with a well taken goal. Phoenix upped their game and pressed the opposition, but missed several scoring opportunities.
Phoenix were finally rewarded when Anna Machado scored in the dying minutes. Phoenix Player of the Match was Erin Watkins.
Great Phoenix
IN one of their best performances of the season Phoenix U13 girls outplayed Gosport, to record a 9-4 victory.
Playing fast attacking football Phoenix led 6-1 at half-time with goals from Maisie Roff (2), Ella Gregory, Willa Rolfe, Anna Machado and Rosie Abraham.
The second half saw Olivia Abel score to make it 7-1. Phoenix then relaxed and allowed Gosport to get back into the game and they netted three goals in seven minutes.
Phoenix regrouped and further goals from Rosie Abraham and Erin Watkins saw them secure an excellent 9-4 win.

Phoenix U18 through in Plate
MUDEFORD PHOENIX U18 marched into the next round of the Hampshire Plate after a 4-0 win at Hedge End.
Phoenix went onto the offensive straight from the kick-off and forced the home team to defend in numbers with their goalkeeper making excellent saves to keep her team in the game.
The ice was broken after 15 minutes with a fantastic solo run and shot to make the score 0-1. Phoenix Player of the Match Grace Batsford was then thwarted by an outstanding save from the Hedge End keeper.
The second half saw Phoenix pile on the pressure. New signing Issy Jackopson started to produce some great crosses and these led to Charlotte Fitzpatrick using her pace and strength to score a second and third goal for Phoenix.
Debutante Josie Stephenson then added the fourth to send Phoenix into the next round.
