Environment Agency flood alerts for River Blackwater at Landford, East Wellow, Cadnam, Ower and Lower Avon between Ringwood and Christchurch

FLOOD alerts have been issued for areas of the New Forest this afternoon (Monday).

The Environment Agency has said flooding is possible for areas in the northern New Forest: Landford to East Wellow and Wade Bridge on the River Blackwater, and Cadnam to Ower on the Cadnam River.

EA has also issued an alert for Lower Avon and tributaries between Ringwood and Christchurch.

Both alerts for high rivers are in place after heavy rain, with another downpour of 15mm forecast.

The EA adds that a flood warning may be issued for the northern New Forest sites tomorrow as the risk of property flooding increases.
