New Forest man Thomas Amos jailed for £2,500 shoplifting sprees at John Lewis in Westquay, Southampton
A 35-year-old man from the New Forest has been jailed for 18 weeks after stealing £2,500 worth of goods from a John Lewis store.
Thomas Nathan Amos, of no fixed abode, was found guilty of three counts of theft from a shop and one of assault, occurring between 4th and 9th August this year at Westquay shopping centre in Southampton.
Southampton Magistrates' Court heard yesterday (Tuesday) how Amos stole items worth more than £2,500 from John Lewis in Westquay over the course of three visits.
He was found guilty and was handed a sentence of eight weeks' imprisonment. A previous suspended sentenced was also activated by the judge, who added a further 10 weeks.
Amos was also banned from entering any John Lewis store in England and Wales for a year.
