New Lymington lingerie shop to stock luxury brands
AFTER running Lymington’s best-known yacht chandlery store for more than three decades, Teresa Powell has opened a luxury lingerie and swimwear boutique.
Lymington Lingerie at 3 Quay Street officially opened last week, and also offers a bespoke fitting and measuring service.
Teresa, who alongside her husband James owned Yachtmail Chandlery in Quay Road until late last year, told the A&T: “I really wanted to stay in the retail industry but at the same time I was keen to do something completely different.
"I had been looking into opening a lingerie shop for around the last 18 months and when this premises came up at the end of last year, I knew it would be perfect.”
Sharon Sukacz, who previously worked in the same premises when it was a menswear store and then a ladies clothing shop, is set to work alongside Teresa.
The new shop will open 10am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 5pm Saturday, with additional Sunday opening from early April.
Lymington Lingerie will stock designs from Lise Charmel, Fantasie, Freya, Chantelle, Passionata and Chantal Thomass, with prices for bras ranging from around £28 up to £110. Co-ordinated briefs and other items are also available.
Teresa said: “We have had a great start since we opened last week, and we are very keen to hear customers’ feedback and suggestions of ways we can improve.
“I just felt that Lymington was really lacking an independent lingerie shop where customers could come for a bespoke service.
"We really hope the town will support us because it is the independent shops which give the town its unique charm.”
