New Milton junior pupils scoop top prizes in Churchill Retirement Home’s coronation emblem competition

Two schoolchildren scooped prizes in a competition for pupils all over the UK to design an emblem to celebrate the coronation.

New Milton Junior School pupil Eli Cervantes was awarded the national winner’s prize, and Anaisa Lillington, also from the school, took the regional winner’s prize in the contest organised by Churchill Retirement Living.

Anaisa was one of five regional winners to receive £50, and Eli beat hundreds of other entries to be awarded the first prize of £100. Their school also won £500.

Headteacher Kelvin Geary was at Churchhill’s Knights Lodge development in Lymington to give the pupil’s their awards. Their entries are now on display in the owner’s lounge there.

Churchill’s senior marketing manager, Caroline Haswell, said: “We were thrilled to invite Eli and Anaisa to Knights Lodge where they could see their winning designs on display.

“We had a wonderful time celebrating King Charles’ coronation across all our developments and our emblem design competition was a great way to get local school children involved in this historic occasion.”
