New Milton Rugby Club U13 boys charge into Hampshire Cup semi-final
Hampshire Cup (quarter-final): Petersfield U13 0-50 New Milton U13
NEW MILTON U13 delivered a crushing blow to their Petersfield counterparts in the Hampshire Cup quarter finals.
Milton started full of confidence enjoying much of the possession and territory in the early exchanges. Powerful runs from Milton forwards and backs allowing the half backs to control and dictate the pace of the game. This led to a number of quick tries which stamped an early dominance on the game.
New Milton’s defence was rock solid with Petersfield finding it difficult to penetrate the gain line. This allowed the forwards to counter ruck, regain possession and craft out further attacks which led to further tries leading to a half-time score 25-0 in New Milton’s favour.
In the second half a relentless wave after wave of attacking rugby led to an early try built on the back of excellent team play.
New Milton highlighted the depth and talent of their squad by making a number of substitutions which did not disrupt the quality of their attacking rugby and further tries came with a 50- 0 victory celebrated.
New Milton now have a Hampshire Cup semi-final date with Winchester on Sunday 10th February.
