Sydenhams Wessex Division 1: New Milton Town 6-0 Folland Sports

AFTER nine games without a win New Milton Town hit the jackpot with a 6-0 defeat of Folland Sports at Fawcetts Field on Saturday.

Linnets Jake Carswell led the way with two goals, the other scorers being Jamie Wilson, Eamonn Duffy, Jack Broad and an own goal.

Carswell looked lively throughout and opened the scoring after just two minutes. He quickly added a second with a neat shot from the edge of the area and New Milton Town never looked back.

The home side went on to add four more goals against a Follands outfit who sit fourth from bottom, six points better off and one place higher than New Milton.

Happy Linnets manager

Linnets’ player/manager Patrick Wilson told the A&T: “The boys were excellent from start to finish and we played some good football throughout.

“I told the boys beforehand that if we start bright and look to press constantly, we will have joy in the match.

“We were the fitter team and we defended really well. I’m so glad that we finally got a win and we look to carry on that performance at home to Petersfield next week.”
