THERE have been no new deaths reported from Covid-19 in the New Forest for the last two weeks, according to official figures released yesterday (Tuesday).

The total death toll remains at 131 in the district since the start of the year, of which 66 were in care homes.

The last New Forest fatality was reported in the weekly update by the Office for National Statistics on 21st July.

The latest figures are for deaths that occurred up to 24th July but were registered up to 1st August.

In the BCP Council area, which includes Christchurch, there were no deaths reported this week, although there was one notified last Tuesday.

The conurbation's death toll stands at 188, of which 88 were in care homes and 89 in hospital.
