A spokesperson for Oakhaven said: “Each and every penny will go to someone receiving end-of-life care.”

Only 10% of the annual running costs of the hospice are provided for, with 90% having to be raised by charity events and shops, gifts in wills, investments, and the company Oakhaven Care.

Pennyfarthing Homes sponsored the walk, saying that as a family business it “prides itself on working closely with the communities in which we build”.
